Cartel X-pert Carbon Sight

The Cartel X-pert carbon sight is such a good sight that I cannot bring myself to pay hundreds of dollars to get the same features. 

The windage is smoothly adjustable plus or minus three turns and has a knurled head lock down screw.   (I added a reference line to the adjustment knob with a silver marker.)

The sight comes with a hooded pin on a 10/32 threaded rod, which I replaced with a $40 Cartel 405 1-1/8" scope with 0.5 diopter ("4x" is  2.5x at my 31" peep to lens).  (I drilled the center of the Cartel 405 plastic lens and inserted a 3/4" length of 0.60 red fiber)

The slider has a quick move feature and a fine elevation adjust knob.  (The quick move feature has a lock screw that I removed, leaving only one lock screw to loosen when sliding or making fine adjustments.)

By creating a 0..1..2..3.. ..9.. strip with my label maker, I have repeatable XX.x elevation markings with 4-11/16" usable sight travel.  My 20 yard mark is 30.8 and 90m is 58.5 for 245fps 330gr arrow.  Each 10.0 adjustment moves 0.8" and 0.1 moves 0.008 inches.

The slider with scope comes off the elevation bar and fits very nicely in a $1 travel soap dish for safe storage.

The carbon extension bar is continuously adjustable with a large knurled lock down knob that has never come loose during shooting.  There is a reference hole in the mount but no markings on the extension bar from the factory.  I extended the bar to my preferred position and placed a silver marker dot in the middle of the reference hole so that I can return the sight to full extension repeatably. 

When I am ready to store the bow in the case, I loosen the slider lock knob, remove the slider/scope assembly, loosen the extension bar knob, collapse the extension bar to the bow, and retighten the knob.

The sight does not have a "third axis" adjustment, but I have not found it necessary. 

So for $70 I have a great sight and scope that works "too well" on my 49# compound bow to justify spending hundreds more for a "usual" sight.
